The Charity Ball is the sole fundraiser for the Greenville Chapter of Junior Auxiliary. With the help of community leaders and businesses, the Junior Auxiliary is able to make a difference in the lives of many children. With the money raised, the Junior Auxiliary is able to provide support to many disadvantaged children in the Greenville area. A variety of projects allow the women of Junior Auxiliary to provide much needed hands-on service to local children.

The Charity Ball idea began in 1950. This event has evolved into quite the tradition and a much anticipated social event of the Greenville area. Part of the excitement is the Coronation of a King and Queen. A secret committee chooses the King and Queen with emphasis placed on his and her community service efforts and involvement. The identity of the royal couple is kept secret until the night of the ball. The anticipation builds as the February event draws near. The night of the ball kicks off with the Patron’s Party, a dinner buffet overflowing with a delightful variety of foods.

At 8:00 p.m. the coronation ceremony begins. Biographies are read to begin the reveal of the King and Queen as they make their entrance wearing royal attire.

The royal majesties also have a court. The court consists of kindergarten, 3rd grade, 8th grade and 12th grade children of Associate and Life Junior Auxiliary members. The court children are recognized as they make their way to line the royal thrones.

The royal couple has the first dance of the evening and the party begins. It is truly a royal event
